Getting Started - Azure Cognitive Search

Creating a New Azure Cognitive Search Service

To get started with Azure Cognitive Search, you first need to create a new search service. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Sign in to the Azure portal: If you don't already have an Azure account, you can sign up for a free trial account.

  2. Create a new search service: Once you are signed in to the Azure portal, navigate to the "Create a resource" page and search for "Azure Cognitive Search". Select the "Azure Cognitive Search" option, and then click the "Create" button.

  3. Configure your search service: In the "Basics" tab, enter a name for your search service, select the subscription, resource group, and location, and then select the pricing tier that meets your needs. You can choose between the Free, Basic, and Standard pricing tiers.

  4. Create an index: Once your search service is created, you can start indexing your data. To create an index, click the "Indexes" tab, and then click the "Add index" button. Follow the prompts to define your index schema, including defining fields and setting up search analyzers.

  5. Query your data: Once you have created an index, you can start querying your data. To do this, navigate to the "Search explorer" tab, enter a search query, and then click the "Search" button.
